Chrome electroplating can be tracked from the early history of 1800. It was Luigi Brugnetelli, a friend of Allisandro Volta (where the word “volt” came from) along with its college professor, who first applied the process of electrodisposition to an electroplated gold. As a result of this development, Brugnatelli’s early work using voltaic electricity enabled him to test out various plating solutions.
